Microblading

SERVICE | 3 hours

Microblading is a manual method for enhancing eyebrows. Traditional Microblading is done using a handheld tool with very fine needle grouping to deposit pigment into the upper dermis. Because the color is closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine on normal to dry skin type.

The difference between this and ordinary permanent makeup is that microblading is not done by a machine. The pigment is manually placed into the skin. The Microblading manual hand tool is disposable and has sterile packaged blades. The needle grouping glides with gentle pressure over the skin and causes fine cuts, looking like hair strokes, leaving a trace that blends with real hair. Depending on the drawing technique – it creates an individual look ideal for your face.

Microblading is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. It is ideal for clients with normal to dry skin types and some hair. The results are natural-looking hair-like strokes, depending on the amount of hair you currently have. This technique is ideal for clients with some hair and having dry/normal skin type.

Powder Brows, also known as Shading, is a shading technique using a cosmetic machine that creates a softly shaded brow pencil look once healed. It is done using a digital cosmetic machine with a single needle that creates little dots (pixels) moving at a specific speed implanting pigment into the skin. The color is deposited in layers. It heals like a powder effect. These are not for hair strokes, but hair strokes can be added, called Combination or Fusion Brows This technique adds definition and depth to the eyebrows. It is recommended for women with any skin type, especially oily skin, and anyone who would regularly wear brow makeup. It is also ideal for clients with very sparse eyebrows and mature skin..

Consultation is required prior to booking. It can be done online, by phone or in person. Booking fee is required to hold the appointment.

Nano lines or Nano brows is adding the hair strokes digitally, using a digital machine. Shading is a technique done with a digital machine that implants pigment a little deeper in the skin than Microblading creating a very soft and powdery look after healing is complete.

Previous Work Done By Another Artist

Only available for current brow clients of iLash CT studio

If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed by another artist, we request that you email us clear photos of your brows for approval ilashct.info@gmail.com. After sending your photos, please give us 24-48 business hours for us to get back to you. Every case is different. I evaluate saturation of the brows (light saturation, work is not deep and 90% faded), health of the skin (no scars), and that the previous brow shape can be covered.

Know that we cannot perform pure microblading over a previous work because part of our work is covering up the previous work. So, we either use brow shading or use a brow combination technique.

If for any reason you schedule an appointment without approval from us, your deposit will be forfeited

FAQ

  • What is the difference between Microblading and Powder Brows?

Microblading is a manual technique of permanent makeup used to implant pigment into the skin. It is a great service to define brows for clients with dry to normal skin types.

Microblading is done to enhance what the client already has and to make the eyebrows look as natural as possible. It is a great solution for people who want to accentuate the look of eyebrows on their face.

Shading can be also combined with Microblading for very sparse brows, alopecia or combination skin types, it's called Fusion brows or Combination Brows. Powder Brows, also known as Ombre Powder brows, is a shading technique that creates a softly shaded brow pencil look once healed. This technique adds definition and depth to the eyebrows. It is recommended for women with oily and combination skin, barely any hair, or anyone who would regularly wear brow pencil or brow shadow.

The main difference between Microblading and Powder brows (Shading) is that Microblading is done manually with a diposable pen while Powder Brows is done with a Cosmetic machine. During Microblading the pigment is manually implanted into the skin. The microblading manual pen is equipped with sterile packaged blades. The blade glides with gentle pressure over the skin and causes fine cuts, as fine as a paper cut, leaving a trace that can hardly be distinguished from real hair. Depending on the drawing technique – of which we are experts – it creates an individual look ideal for your face and the style you are trying to achieve.

The shape of the eyebrows is calculated according to the golden ratio and face morphology. During Microblading, the pigment is implanted in between the layer of the epidermis and upper dermis utilizing a sterilized and disposable tool. The pigment is chosen to match the natural hair of the eyebrows color. An app is used to calculate symmetry while the client’s eyes are closed, because in that way brow muscles are relaxed, and measurements are more precise. I use Phibrows pigments for Microblading, which are high-quality products from the Best Microblading Company in the world. For Powder Brows or Shading, I use Permablend pigments. Microblading is not a one-time service; it may need additional sessions.

  • What Can I Expect After a Microblading Procedure?

The healing process after a microblading procedure varies from client to client based on many factors. Some of the most common things clients may expect after a microblading procedure are:

- Tenderness in the area

- Pink or redness around the brow area

- Swelling

- Thickening and darkening of the area

- Moderate to thick peeling 3-4 days after the procedure

- Peeling will begin to flake off anytime between days 5 - 10

- After flake off, pigment color and strokes may look light, grey, and blurry

- After the area is fully healed (could be 4-6 weeks after procedure) the pigment will return to full color.

- It is extremely important to make sure that clients Do Not pick at any flaking skin after they have had a Microblading or shading. Picking could result in the loss of pigment as well as scarring.

  • How Long Does Microblading Last?

Microblading is a form of permanent makeup and is subject to fading over time due to exfoliation, sun exposure and skincare products that may increase exfoliation of the skin. Microblading may last anywhere 6 months to 18months before requiring a touch-up, depending on the clients' lifestyle and the health of their skin.

  • How Long Does Microblading Take to Heal?

Microblading may takes betweent 10 - 14 days to heal depending on age, post-care, medications, hormones. The area will be fully healed between 30-45 days after the first procedure.

  • Is it necessary a touch up after the initial appointment?

A touch up is necessary because everyone heals differently and therefore results vary. Sometimes it is necessary to adjust the color and brow thickness by adding more strokes. In the touch up session, the final adjustments are made to assure the client’s satisfaction.

  • Am I a good candidate for Microblading?

The following are Contraindications for Microblading:

  • Pregnant or Nursing

  • Prone to Keloids

  • Skin conditions, such as eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris and dermatitis- your skin is constantly flaking, itching, shedding constantly, or aggravated. It may not be suitable for service because it may not hold the pigment well. A physician’s note is required.

  • Hemophilia- condition when it causes easy bleeding. Your skin will not retain the color very well.

  • Very oily skin with large pores can cause Microblading hair strokes to blur together. Powder brows is recommended

  • Moles, bumps, piercing, and raised skin around the eyebrows may not be able to retain color.

  • Accutane/Retin-A – (Individuals who have been taking acne medications such as Accutane (Isotretinoin) or Retin-A within the last year have an altered skin condition that will not heal well after the procedure. Similarly, Retinol and Vitamin A users should discontinue the use of each 4 weeks prior to their procedure.

  • Sunburn – It is best to wait until your skin has resumed its normal color and wait until your skin has healed before booking in for a procedure.

  • Blood thinners- medications that thin the blood which may cause excessive bleeding a poor result with microblading. It is best that you consult with your physician. A physician's note will be required.I suggest doing Powder Brows instead.

  • Autoimmune disease, Chemotherapy, Diabetes, Heart conditions- Great results depend greatly on healing and health condition. It is best that you consult with your physician prior to booking if you’re being treated to any of the above mentioned. Please note: a physician's note will be required as per brow artist’s insurance.

  • What if I had Microblading done by a different artist?

Unfortunately, I am not offering service to Microblading work done by a different artist. For cover up, a consultation is required prior to scheduling to check saturation (90% faded), shaping, health of the brow area. Additional price applies.

  • How to prepare for service?

Avoid caffeine, energy drinks, ibuprofen, alcohol, drugs, aspirin & fish oil supplements for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Avoid waxing, threading, tweezing brows at least 7 days prior to procedure. No brow tinting in the last 14 days. If you had Botox in the past one month wait 3 weeks until it settles down to book your brow service.

Tips:

Selecting your Microblading/ Cosmetic Tattoo artist is extremely important. Do your research prior to booking. Compare the work of various artists before choosing. Consider training and reviews.

Schedule a consultation to discuss your expectations and desired outcome, including the shape, style, and color. Also, remember that faces are never perfectly symmetrical.
